This year our Christmas goal was to get the kids outside and we seem to have succeeded. My parents went in with us to get a trampoline, Kyle’s parents bought a power wheel and Kyle’s grandparents got street hockey stuff. They backyard has seen a lot more of my little boys.
This year was the year of the worst Christmas tree ever. We cut one down the first weekend of the December. We took it outside completely dry 2 weeks later. It fell on Alexander and fell over one other time. We decorated it 3 times and bought a fake tree 10 days before Christmas and decorated it.
We had a ward party that the primary kids sang at. Benjamin’s school had an open house and Alexander had a concert and a party. We also had friends over to decorate gingerbread houses. It was a busy month.
My family came down for Christmas. We took family pictures, ate beignets, went bowling, got stitches, went fishing, ate (lots) and opened lots of presents. (Benjamin was our first to get stitches. He fell on a bowling ball. It took 4 adults to hold him down to put them in after swaddling him and covering his face. The face covering seemed to be the real problem.) Mom got us all matching pajamas and I made pj pants for our family.
Alexander and Benjamin left with my parents and spent the week in Alabama. The house was soooo quiet. I cleaned and caught up on sleep, Kyle worked on Alexander’s birthday present.
They boys came back with Kyle’s parents for New Years. We ate (lots more), opened presents and had beignets (they’re really good).
It was a really good Christmas this year spent with loved ones. We have so much to be thankful for. Alexander, Benjamin and Isaac are amazing boys and I love them so much. Kyle is the best husband in the world. We have great friends and most importantly a knowledge of our Savior who lives and loves us.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
