2009 Already

Well Christmas has come and gone and now we are into the new year. I can't believe how fast time flies by.

This Christmas was great. We decorated gingerbread houses with our friends the Longneckers and the Campbells. I think Candi is probably still cleaning up icing and candy.

Our neighborhood goes carolling and Kyle even consented to have us join in after we heard the group of 150 plus walk past our house. They had a limo for cold kids and a drink cart with hot chocolate and other beverages that kept the group jolly. They ended at the park and had the kids play bells to a couple songs. It was a lot of fun.

We had Kyle's family down the weekend before Christmas and my family over Christmas. I think Alexander believes holidays and birthdays last for weeks with all the celebrating we did. Christmas morning was a lot of fun this year. Alexander is reaching those prime Christmas years. All he asked for was a black bike. When he came out and saw his blue Thomas bike he asked if it was his black bike and we explained that Santa knew how much he liked Thomas so he brought him a Thomas bike with black tires. We didn't know if he would be old enough for a bike yet but after a couple tries he got the hang of it and now we are jogging to keep up.

Benjamin really enjoyed his presents too especially anything he could chew on. He tried to open everything by chewing on it. He was actually excited about his toys and took notice of them. I was surprised he took an interest. Alexander had more fun with the paper his first Christmas than the toys. We had a lot of fun our first Christmas in Montgomery.

We went to Huntsville for New Year's. We had a lot of fun. I found I enjoy a video game--if Rock Band actually counts as a video game. We spent time with Kyle's brothers before they went back to school. It is always fund when the Paries boys get together. We also celebrated Alexander's birthday with family while we were there. Kyle got him ice skates so we took him skating. They for his party we went bowling. He wore himself out carrying bowling balls around for an hour.

We had a Go Diego Go party here for him with friends on his birthday. It was a mad house. The kids brought out all the things in our house you can ride on and had a parade going on it seemed with the Thomas train, the Elmo car, the bike, the 4 wheeler (or motorcycle as Alexander terms it), the wagon and Benjamin's car. It was great though.

We have been in Montgomery just shy of a year now and we aren't at all ready to leave. We have great friends and love being here.

Happy New Year!
