Christmas

It was a Gatlinburg Christmas year.  We loaded the car and headed to Alabama for a few hours with my family on Dec. 20th then up to the cabin on the 21st.  Kyle's grandparents and Uncle Cal's family came this year.  It was a lot of fun.  Isaac and I both ended up with sinus infections, but otherwise we had a great trip.  This year we went to the lumberjack show.  They gave lumberjack cookies (which we later decided smelled like dying animals) to the most enthusiastic patrons.  Alexander got one in the end and Benjamin, thinking they were real cookies--not just a slice off the log--was really upset.  Kelly ended up buying one for him.  Both of the horribly stinky cookies were left at the cabin.  We ate at the Pancake Pantry and you would have thought we starved our kids with how much they ate--that place is just that delicious.  The kids were spoiled rotten and we ended up taking back more weight in gifts than people.  Now we are just trying to figure out what goes to WV next month and what stays.  The boys got Skylanders Giants and bounced for 2 days straight playing it.  Whoever said video games aren't exercise hasn't seen my kids play.  We got to spend a day with BJ and his family then stayed a few more days with my parents.  It was a really relaxing week and a half.  We spent New Year's eve driving home.  Kyle woke me up in Mississippi to tell me Happy New Year--super romantic.  It was cold and rainy most of our trip and that continued when we got home.  I'm not sure how I'll survive a cold, snowy winter.
