Since our move to Louisiana last summer we have had problems getting Benjamin to go to sleep at night. He just wants to play with Alexander and as a result we get mad that they are still giggling at 10pm and the boys don’t really get enough sleep. We tried putting Benjamin down earlier than Alexander but I think he propped his eyelids open with something waiting for play time with his brother. Last week a tired Alexander asked if he could just sleep on the mat in the playroom and we let him. After sleeping on the floor for a week we finally had a chance to move his bed into the other room and move some things out of the playroom and give the boys each their own room. It is AMAZING. We tuck them in, turn off the light and don’t hear from them until morning. Why did we fight them so long?Because I love having a playroom. A room that doesn’t have to be cleaned before bed, that I can just close the door to and ignore. But well rested, happy boys and parents is just so much better.
