Alexander started first grade last week. He seems to like his teacher and loves that his best friend Jacob is in his class. He is already bored with the reading homework, so we are going to have to work with him at home to keep him challenged. We had to do homework and tell about him. Here is our report.
Alexander is oldest of our three boys. He is a very creative and intelligent kid. We can’t remember him not talking. He talks with his hands and explains things in great detail. He is a quick learner. He loves creating things and is constantly in the craft box. Alexander loves science and wants to do experiments all the time and makes up his own experiments. He likes to be the leader and can be bossy (we are working on that). He loves Lego, Star Wars and recently Pokémon. He is very competitive and likes to do well. He has played a little hockey (what there is to play in Baton Rouge anyway), taken some Tae Kwon Do and is starting tumbling this week. He loves fishing and can sit out all day waiting for the fish to bite. We try to read together every night. He reads to us and some to his little brothers. He learned to ride his bike this summer without training wheels. He was so proud of his accomplishment. Alexander seems more comfortable in a room full of adults than a room full of kids. He makes lifelong friends once a friendship is made though. We spent a week in Hawaii this summer and now he wants to either move to Hawaii or closer to his grandparents in north Alabama. His favorite color is red, because of his red hair. We are working on getting him to try new things and to not give up if he doesn’t get something right away. He loves school and his favorite thing about school last year was the work. We want him to be challenged and see him succeed.
We sure love you Alexander and are very proud of you.
