Hawaii

Hawaii was AMAZING.

The flights were long and the jet lag kicked our butts but everything else was simply AMAZING.

We stayed the first 3 days of our trip in a condo on North Shore.  Definitely the way to go.  We were minutes from beautiful beaches, the Polynesian Cultural center and some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen.  We went to the beach, the pool, the Dole Plantation, the temple grounds and the PCC.  The show was incredible.  Alexander left wanting a spear to take home and Benjamin a flaming stick.

AGM started on Wednesday and they didn’t cut any costs.  We stayed and the Aulani disney resort.  The kids got to see Disney characters and spend time and Auntie’s Beach House.  Alexander described it as a place with lots of fun things to do, like video games, snacks and activities so kids don’t miss their parents.  It was great for us and them.  The resort had a lazy river, a kids pool, water slides and a bigger pool. There was also a conservation pool with stingrays and a scuba tank.  And of course a beautiful beach.  This year the partners rented cabanas for everyone and we took advantage of those too.  Kris went as our nanny and he took time to check out the spa which is apparently incredible.

The first night was the welcome party with lots of traditional Hawaiian food and games.  The best part was the chocolate covered bananas on a stick.  The adult night was nice.  They fed us raw fish, cooked fish and steak.  We went up to the room so I could nurse Isaac before dessert and my zipper broke.  Kyle went back and filled his pockets with a wonderful assortment of desserts. They were amazing so it is probably good his pockets only held so many.  Alexander had a pirate adventure that night and Benjamin and Isaac had a stroller drive-in.  The big boys both seemed to really have a good time.  For family night there was a live concert on the beach by Livehouse and Gavin Degraw, followed by an spectacular fireworks show.  We had one extra day to just relax and we did.  The boys loved the pool and went on the water slides countless times.  They liked the ocean but could have done without the beach.  Isaac would sift sand through his fingers until he found something big enough to eat then he would eat it.  He HATED the waves.

We are already planning on going back. Alexander told us he wants to move closer to his grandparents or to Hawaii.  I knew he was a smart kid.  I don’t know how to explain how amazing Hawaii is.  There is just a spirit there.  It is beautiful and the weather is perfect.  And they have pina colada slurpees!

And now lots of pictures.

Looks like an awesome trip! We stayed on the same island that you did and I'm pretty sure that the Disney resort is right next to the Marriott that we stayed in.

I love you're alreay planning a trip back.

Wow- that looks SO fun! I'll have to get in touch with you if we ever make it there and get all the "in and outs". Your kids are getting so big... and your baby is adorable. Can't believe our babies are almost a year!
